Climbing

Twelve routes across Montserrat, the Pyrenees and the Priorat — from your first bolted multi-pitch to two days on world-class limestone. Pick your climb, we handle the rest.

The Vert Way

Every climb below is led by a certified mountain guide, with technical gear included and small group sizes.

Whether it's a single day on Montserrat's golden conglomerate, a two-day Pyrenean ridge with a night in a mountain refuge, or a custom objective you've been dreaming about, you'll climb with someone who knows the rock, the weather windows, and how to keep the day moving. Browse by style below, or get in touch and tell us your goal.

Our promise

Mountains rule our calendar. If conditions ever force us to cancel, we reschedule or refund.

Climbing Questions

What people ask before their first guided climb in Catalunya — levels, safety, and how a day actually runs.

Getting started
Do I need previous climbing experience?

It depends on the route. Several of our multi-pitch days on Montserrat are built for complete beginners — you second the route rather than leading it, and we teach the ropework as we go. Others, like the two-day trips to Siurana and Margalef, suit climbers already comfortable around 6a. Check the grade on each route, or get in touch and we'll point you to the right one.

What climbing grades do you cover?

Everything from your first bolted multi-pitch, with no prior grade needed, up to sustained sport routes in Margalef and Siurana where 8a projects sit alongside friendly slabs. Each of the twelve routes above lists its grade and who it suits, so you can match the day to your level rather than guessing.

Is climbing with a guide safe for beginners?

Yes — that's the point of going guided. Your guide builds every anchor, manages the ropes and finds the route, and teaches you the fundamentals as you climb. You're roped and protected throughout. You focus on the movement; we handle the systems that keep you safe, and the decision about when to press on or turn back.

What's the difference between multi-pitch, a ridge and sport climbing?

A multi-pitch route climbs a wall in stages, giving you height, exposure and a true summit — Montserrat's speciality. A ridge is a long, airy line along a crest, more mountaineering in feel, with scrambling and rappels between towers. Sport climbing is single-pitch routes on bolts, where you climb many lines in a day rather than one big one.

Booking & logistics
What's included in a guided climbing day?

A certified mountain guide, all technical gear — harness, helmet, rope, quickdraws and anything route-specific — plus route planning and permits where they're needed. Food, transport to the crag and personal clothing are on you unless a route page says otherwise. Bring your own climbing shoes if you have them.

What happens if the weather turns bad?

We reschedule or refund, no questions asked — see our promise above. Catalunya has enough microclimates that we can often just move you to a different crag rather than cancel outright, which is one of the quiet advantages of climbing with people who know the whole region.

Can I book a private day just for my group?

Yes — every route on this page can be booked privately, whether you're on your own, as a pair or with friends. Group size limits and pricing are shown on each route page, and the per-person cost drops with numbers. Get in touch if you want a custom itinerary across several days.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can, particularly for weekends in spring and autumn, which are the busiest climbing seasons here. Two-day trips and refuge-night routes like the Agulles de Travessany need the most notice, since accommodation has to be arranged alongside the guiding.
